Oman Explores New Avenues for Trade Growth at the China-Arab States Expo 2023

Yinchuan, China – September 2023

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand trade and economic ties, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, represented by Oman Exports, participated in the sixth session of the China-Arab States Expo, held from September 21 to 24, 2023, in Yinchuan, Northwestern China. This year’s expo focused on enhancing economic cooperation between China and Arab countries across key sectors, including economy, trade, energy, science and technology, and agriculture.

The China-Arab States Expo serves as an essential platform for fostering bilateral trade relations between China and the Arab world, and Oman’s participation in this event aimed to explore new avenues for economic growth and identify opportunities for expanding Omani exports into the Chinese market. The visit also provided an opportunity to assess the competitiveness of Omani products in China and explore potential avenues for trade cooperation.

During the four-day expo, the Omani delegation held meetings with numerous importers, businessmen, buyers, and manufacturers interested in Omani products. These meetings were instrumental in establishing initial connections and understanding market dynamics in China. Discussions focused on areas of mutual interest, including trade exchange and potential collaborations, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and energy.

The visit marked an important first step in understanding the Chinese market and setting the stage for future Omani participation in trade exhibitions, with a focus on promoting Omani products. By identifying areas of opportunity and leveraging the China-Arab States Expo as a bridge for business and investment, Oman is positioning itself to boost its export presence in China and beyond, ensuring sustainable growth for Omani industries in the global market.
