Sultanate of Oman is the guest of honor at the Baghdad International Fair

The Sultanate of Oman participated as a guest of honor in
the 48th Baghdad International Fair, to enhance trade and investment relations
between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Iraq, and open new horizons
for cooperation in various economic sectors, in addition to supporting
partnership opportunities between Omani and Iraqi companies and benefiting from
available investment opportunities.
The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman participated in the
opening of the economic forum accompanying the Baghdad International Fair, in
which more than 20 countries and about a thousand commercial companies are
participating, making it a major platform for displaying products and services
and strengthening commercial partnerships between businessmen from different
countries of the world. The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman was headed by
His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al-Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and
Investment Promotion.
The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman met with His
Excellency Ghassan Farhan Al-Muhammadi, Economic Undersecretary of the Iraqi
Ministry of Trade. The delegation also held a meeting with a number of Iraqi
businessmen to discuss investment opportunities and ways to enhance cooperation
in the fields of trade, industry and logistics services.
In a statement, His Excellency the Minister of Trade,
Industry and Investment Promotion stressed the importance of expanding trade
relations, noting that the Iraqi market represents a promising opportunity for
investment.
For his part, His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas,
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, explained the importance of strengthening economic partnerships
between businessmen in the two countries, indicating that trade and investment
cooperation will contribute to supporting joint economic growth and creating
new opportunities for the private sector.
The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the exhibition
with a pavilion that witnessed the participation of more than 30 Omani
companies representing various economic sectors, such as industry, trade,
logistics services, energy and technology.
On the sidelines of participation in the exhibition, His
Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of
Commerce and Industry met with a number of Iraqi businessmen and
representatives of the banking sector, to discuss the challenges facing some
Iraqi businessmen in banking transactions.
His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the
Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry stressed the importance of strengthening
economic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Iraq, noting that the
Chamber works to support businessmen by providing innovative solutions to the
challenges they face, especially in the financial and banking sector.
